"The 2021 50/50 Shared Cost Sidewalk Program is now open for applications! Local streets are maintained by the Village. However, the repair and replacement of damaged sidewalk slabs are the responsibility of the homeowner or business whose property is adjacent to the sidewalk. To help with that responsibility, the Village of University Park offers property owners the opportunity to improve sidewalk facilities with the 50/50 Shared Cost Sidewalk Program. Through this program, the cost per square foot that is charged to a property owner, is well below what a private contractor typically charges. 

Applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis through April 30th, 2021. The number of participants is based on the availability of funds, sidewalk condition, and alignment with the Village's capital improvement plan. Applicants will be notified via U.S mail indicating whether they have been included in the 2021, 50/50 Shared Cost Sidewalk Program. Additional information including terms of payment, construction schedule, and other details will also be communicated prior to initiating work.
