Enlisted into the United States Air Force in Chicago, Illinois on 26 June 1987 and arrived at Lackland AFB, Texas for Basic Military Training. He went on to attend technical school at Keelser AFB, Biloxi, Mississippi to train as an Aviation Resource Management Specialist. His first duty station was with the 562nd Fighter Training Squadron at George AFB, Victorville, California. In 1992, George AFB closed and Sergeant Hardy was assigned to the 314th Operations Support Squadron as the NCOIC of Flight Records Resource Management at Little Rock AFB, Jacksonville, Arkansas. After his seven-year tour there, he was assigned to the 39th Operations Support Squadron at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey as the NCOIC of Aviation Resource Management. Sergeant Hardy was responsible for the Operations Resource Management to include flight scheduling, tracking flying hours and training of all assigned and TDY aircrew members in 39th Air and Space Expeditionary Wing and Combined Task Force at Incirlik Air Base. On 21 December 2000 Sergeant Hardy was recognized in front of his peers at a base Commander’s Call by being promoted thru the Stripes for Exceptional Performers program to Technical Sergeant. Upon the completion of his 15 month tour at Incirlik AB, Sergeant Hardy returned to Little Rock AFB. Shortly after returning he volunteered to become a recruiter in 2002 and was assigned to the 330th Recruiting Squadron as an Enlisted Accessions Recruiter in Merrillville, Indiana. After serving four years in this very challenging zone, he earned an assignment to the 341st Recruiting Squadron, Houston Officer Accessions Flight, tasked with recruiting physicians. Master Sergeant Hardy is married to Judy Hardy and they have three sons: Gerald (21), Patrick (19), and Tyler (15). He has two associate degrees from the Community College of the Air Force in Aviation Resource Management and Human Resource Management. Master Sergeant Hardy is working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Workforce Education and Training.
